STUNT adds Lisa Cisneros to coaching staff

Kingsville - Texas A&M - Kingsville announced the official hiring of TAMUK alumna Lisa Cisneros as an Assistant Coach for both the cheerleading and STUNT programs.

Cisneros brings more than two decades of cheerleading experience to the role and will make her return as a Javelina, joining Head Coach Lindsey Garcia and rounding out the coaching staff for both programs. She adds to a pair of programs carrying significant momentum, as the cheer program finished in fifth place in the nation in the Division 2 Spirit Rally at Daytona, while, just months before, the STUNT team won a Lone Star Conference Tournament game in its first year of existence with Kingsville.

"I am excited to have Lisa join our Javelina Cheer and STUNT programs," Garcia said. "I believe she will be a perfect fit of what we need to help our programs to keep growing in the way we want."

Cisneros began her career in the sport as a cheerleader for the Javelinas, graduating with both a bachelor's and, later, a master's degree in Kinesiology from the University. She later spent time as a Teaching Assistant coaching TAMUK's cheer team. She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree at the University.

Her coaching career includes bringing home a National Title in the NCA National Championship (Small Co-Ed Intermediate Division) while coaching Holmes High School in San Antonio. In her most recent role, Cisneros served as the cheer coach for Alice Independent School District, where she helped the program rise to top five in the state at the UIL Championships after transitioning into 5A DII.

In addition to her coaching experience, Cisneros also owns a gym and has a strong background in strength and conditioning, having coached athletes of all ages in a variety of sports, including stunting and tumbling.

"I am excited and honored to be given the opportunity to help continue to grow the Javelina Cheer and STUNT team to become one of the best in the collegiate division," Cisneros said. "TAMUK has always held a special place in my heart, and to be part of its unwavering success is truly special."
