Kingsville – The Texas A&M-Kingsville beach volleyball team has received the fifth seed in the AVCA Small College Beach Championships, set to take place at Gulf Shores Beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama on April 17-19. The Javelinas will enter the tournament as one of 19 participating programs, carrying a 20-7 record into the postseason.
TAMUK has been placed in Pool D alongside fourth-seeded Palm Beach Atlantic, 12th-seeded Vanguard, 13th-seeded Tusculum,. The Javelinas open pool play on Friday, April 17 against Vanguard at 9:05 a.m. Saturday brings two more pool play matches, with TAMUK facing Tusculum at 9:05 a.m. before closing out pool play against Palm Beach Atlantic at 2:30 p.m.
Pool play finishes determine Sunday bracket placement. The top finisher in each pool advances to the Gold bracket with a chance to compete for the Division II championship, second place moves to the Silver bracket, third place advances to the Bronze bracket, and fourth place enters the Copper bracket. The Javelinas will look to finish at the top of Pool D and compete for the title on Sunday.
