Javelinas drop double-header against Angelo State

San Angelo, Tx - Texas A&M-Kingsville was not able to keep up with Angelo State as they dropped both games of the double-header Saturday from Foster Field.

The Javelinas (19-14, 19-14 LSC) plated just four runs across both games on Saturday, while the Rams (22-11, 22-11 LSC) erupted after largely being held in check yesterday, scoring 19 runs on 19 hits across both games.

Game 1:
Zach Wright was abnormally shaky from the mound in his start, as the true-freshman righty allowed seven runs on ten hits as Angelo wrested control of the match early. The Javelinas answered an early three-run inning by the Rams with an RBI-double from Easton Hewitt, but Angelo State rebuilt a commanding lead with a four-run fourth to make it a 1-7 ball game.

The Javelinas made the game interesting in the top of the sixth after Isaiah Aguilar knocked a base hit into right field to score Nick Reyes, but the Rams put two more on the board in the sixth to put the Javelinas away in game one.

Game 2:
The second game of the double-header began in similar fashion to game one, as Angelo plated the first two runs of the contest in the bottom of the second. Joshua Prado tied the game up in the very next inning, bringing in a pair of runs in the top of the third to knot up the contest.

Angelo then erupted for an eight-run third inning to put the Javelinas away, as there were not late-game heroics from the bats as the Hogs dropped both games on the double-header,

The Javelinas look to even up the series on getaway Sunday from Foster Field. Fans of the Javelinas can watch the game on FloCollege or follow the action at JavelinaBSB on X.
