Crescent City Bound: Javelinas Set for Tulane Bayou Beach Duals

Kingsville — Coming off a strong showing at the UMHB Spring Break Bash last weekend in Belton, the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelina beach volleyball team makes the trip to New Orleans this weekend for the Tulane Bayou Beach Duals at the White Sands Volleyball Courts.

The Javelinas have been one of the more consistent programs on the sand this spring, building their record to 9-2 and carrying real confidence into the Crescent City. TAMUK heads into the weekend with proven results against three of its four opponents, having already topped Nicholls, UTEP, and Central Arkansas earlier this season. The Javelinas will look to pick up right where they left off against familiar competition while also opening the weekend against a new challenge in Southeastern Louisiana.

A highlight from last weekend was a milestone moment for Rylan Pollard, who recorded her 43rd career win at flight one — a new program record. The achievement adds to an already impressive overall career total of 47 wins, placing her 10th in program history. But Pollard is far from the only Javelina writing her name into the record books this season.

Liana Huesca currently sits ninth all-time with 51 career wins, while Kalani Vasquez holds fifth place with 60 wins. With the season still going strong, all three have the opportunity to continue climbing and add to what is already becoming one of the most accomplished classes in Javelina beach volleyball history.

Friday, March 13

TAMUK opens the tournament at 11:00 a.m. against Southeastern Louisiana, a Lady Lions squad that has faced a tough early schedule against some of the nation's top programs. The Javelinas then close out Friday at 4:00 p.m. against Nicholls, a program they have already handled this season and will look to knock off again in the evening matchup.

Saturday, March 14

Action resumes Saturday morning as TAMUK returns to the sand at 8:30 a.m. for a rematch with Central Arkansas, a team the Javelinas took down last weekend in Belton. Kingsville closes out the tournament at 11:00 a.m. against UTEP, another familiar opponent and another chance to add to what has already been a strong season on the beach.
