Kingsville - Riding the momentum of a perfect 4-0 start to the season, the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelina beach volleyball team hits the road this weekend for the Cowgirl Beach Bash in Lake Charles, LA, where they will face four opponents over two days of competition.

The Javelinas opened the 2026 campaign in dominant fashion at the Javelina Beach Classic, sweeping all four matches against Division I competition on their home sand. The strong start is already a sign of growth for a program that totaled just seven Division I wins all of last season.

Friday, February 27

The tournament opens Friday with a doubleheader on South Beach. TAMUK will open against host McNeese State University at 11:30 AM in a rematch of their earlier meeting this season, before turning around to face an undefeated Nicholls squad at 2:30 PM.

The rematch with McNeese gives the Javelinas a chance to build on their thrilling 3-2 victory over the Cowgirls from just a week ago. Playing on McNeese's home sand will present a new challenge, but TAMUK has shown the ability to compete and close out tight matches. The afternoon matchup with Nicholls will be the stiffest test of the day, as the Colonels come in with a perfect 2-0 record and will be looking to make a statement of their own.

Saturday, February 28

The tournament wraps up Saturday with two more matchups on South Beach. TAMUK faces Sam Houston at 9:30 AM before closing out the weekend against New Orleans at 12:30 PM.

The early matchup with Sam Houston will be a familiar one, as the Javelinas handled the Bearkats cleanly in a sweep to close out last weekend's tournament. TAMUK will look to replicate that performance before finishing the weekend against New Orleans, who comes in at 0-4 and will be looking to turn their season around.

With four matches against a mix of competition and a perfect record to protect, this weekend in Lake Charles offers the Javelinas an opportunity to show that their hot start is no fluke and that this program is ready to compete at a high level week in and week out.
