Kingsville - Texas A&M-Kingsville travels northeast to take on UT-Tyler in the final road trip of the regular season Thursday from the Louise Herrington Patriot Center.

The Javelinas (13-13, 10-8 LSC) clinched a berth in the Lone Star Conference tournament after taking down the No. 9 team in the country in Eastern New Mexico in their final home game of the season. Now the Javelinas will get a rematch against the Patriots (13-11, 7-11 LSC) who are coming off a dominant 71-50 victory over UT-Dallas.

Despite already clinching a spot in the postseason, the Javelinas still have plenty to play for in terms of postseason seeding. If the Javelinas win out in their last two contests while St. Mary's and West Texas A&M lost out, the Hogs will climb up to the sixth seed. If the Javelinas split this week's game and StMU loses out, the Javelinas will be the seventh seed.

Last time the two teams faced off, the Javelinas notched a 69-61 victory in Kingsville to get their second conference win of the season. Bryson Goldsmith and KC Udolisa combined for 31 points while Bryce Smith notched three steals as the Javelinas shut down the Patriot offense for the final five minutes of the contest.

The offense for the Javelinas has come alive over the past four games, scoring 80-plus points on three separate occasions. The efficiency has taken a big upward swing during this stretch, as the Javelinas are shooting 45.6 percent from the floor, four percent higher than their season average.

Rebounding has also benefitted the Javelinas over their last four contests, as they are at a plus-18 rebounding advantage over that stretch of games. Texas A&M-Kingsville will need to keep up this effort, as UT-Tyler is second in the conference with a 6.1 rebound advantage this season.
