Javelinas look to bounce back against Dustdevils in Kingsville

Kingsville - Texas A&M-Kingsville returns to the Steinke Physical Education Center seeking to get back in the win column as it takes on Texas A&M-International on Tuesday.

The Javelinas (7-7, 4-2 Lone Star Conference) saw its four game LSC win streak come to an end last week as it traveled to UT-Dallas, now with a full week of rest under the belt, Texas A&M-Kingsville aims to earn a much-needed conference win against the Dustdevils (5-10, 2-5 LSC) who are seeking to right their own ship in conference play.

Tuesday's matchup will need to serve as a change in recent history for the Javelinas, as they have dropped their previous five matchups to the Dustdevils. Momentum still favors the Javelians however, as Texas A&M-Kingsville has won two of their last three games, while TAMIU has lost three straight.

The Javelinas will be looking for some key players to return to the lineup in guards Allen Singleton and KC Udolisa. Singleton, the Javelinas' preseason-player-to-watch, has been a do-it-all guard for the Hogs this year. The senior guard is averaging 8.5 points and 3.7 rebounds to go with 18 steals and 22 assists on the year. Udolisa meanwhile has been a good contributor off the bench, averaging six points and 4.1 rebounds per game.

In order to get the win, the Javelinas will need good production from both Bryson Goldsmith and TJ Ford Jr. The duo is averaging just over 20 points combined and has each scored in the twenties over the previous two weeks. Ford scored 25 points on 53 percent shooting against Oklahoma Christian while Goldsmith scored team-best 27 points in 21 minutes against Cameron.

For the Dustdevils, the offense will revolve around guard Caylen Goff Brown who is having a breakout senior campaign for Texas A&M-International. The Tulsa, Oklahoma, native is averaging 14.1 points thus far and had a seven-game streak in which she scored 15-or-more points this season.

Tip-off for Saturday's contest is set for 7:30 pm from Kingsville, Texas. Fans of the Javelinas can watch the game live on FloCollege or follow the game at JavelinaMBB on X.
