Harriet Williams to be inducted into the Javelina Hall of Fame

Kingsville - Long time Javelina Athletics supporter Harriet Williams is set to be inducted into the Javelina Hall of Fame as a meritorious selection Javelina Athletics announced on Wednesday.

She marks the seventh and final selection for the class of 2025, joining Patrick Delice, Jaime Martinez, Juan Sanchez, Jafus White, Remi Yusuf and the 1965 Javelina Football Team.

Williams, lovingly nicknamed "Mama Hog", has been around Texas A&M-Kingsville Athletics for over five decades. A graduate of Texas A&I in 1974, Williams taught in Alice Texas for 19 years before bouncing around Raymondville and Robstown. Williams eventually returned to Kingsville in 1999 and has been there ever since.

Starting in her pre-collegiate years, Williams has attended every Javelina home football game at Javelina Stadium outside of one single game. In that span, Williams watched the Javelinas achieve six national championships and 20 conference championships.

Williams is married to Gene Williams, a former Javelina baseball coach. She has three children, two daughters Lisa and Helen with one son, James. Williams also has three grandchildren Ryan, Reid and Logan.
