Javelinas release women’s basketball 2025-26 schedule

Kingsville - The Texas A&M - Kingsville women's basketball team officially announced the release of its 2025-26 schedule.

Last season saw the Javelinas upset the No.5 team in the nation in the Lone Star Conference tournament, earning themselves a berth to the tournament's semifinals for the first time since 2016-17. Now, along with a re-loaded roster, the team will look to do more damage in an extremely competitive conference.

"We are extremely excited about the journey ahead," Head Coach Michael Madrid said. "We aim to play quality opponents as we prepare for Lonestar Conference games."

The schedule begins with a pair of exhibition games, both of which will be played in front of a home crowd in the Gil E. Steinke Physical Education Center, against North American (Nov. 10) and McMurry (Nov. 15).

The squad's regular season will open the next weekend with four straight road games, starting with matchups versus Colorado Mesa (Nov. 21) and Westminster (Nov. 22) in Salt Lake City. They'll then return to the lone star state for the St. Mary's Thanksgiving Classic, where they will seek revenge against Oklahoma Baptist (Nov. 28) before facing off with Washburn (Nov. 29).

It will then be time for the Javelinas to play their first regular season game in the newly-redesigned SPEC, with games against Texas Woman's (Dec. 4) and UT-Tyler (Dec. 6).

Then they'll head back on the road starting in Odessa where they'll take UT-Permian Basin (Dec. 11). Next stop, Las Vegas for the Division II Holiday Hoops Classic where they'll face more high-level competition in the desert against Daemen (Dec. 20) and the University of Tampa (Dec. 21).

After the holiday break the squad returns looking to start off the new year hot at home against Cameron (Jan. 2) and Oklahoma Christian (Jan. 4). Following that they'll head to Richardson, TX to take on new-LSC-member UT-Dallas (Jan. 8) for a mid-week road trip before coming back home for a pair of home-and-homes with familiar LSC opponents.

TAMUK will be taking on Texas A&M International at home (Jan. 13) and on the road (Jan. 17) in back-to-back games before heading to San Angelo to do the same with Angelo State (Jan. 21 away, 24 home). The team then hits the road once again, heading to Silver City, NM to take on Western New Mexico (Jan. 29), and on their way home they'll make a quick stop in Alpine for a matchup with Sul Ross St. (Jan. 31).

The following weekend TAMUK will be back in the SPEC hosting a pair of divisional foes, with St. Edward's coming to town on Thursday (Feb 5.) and St. Mary's heading to the Ville for a Saturday matchup (Feb. 7). Then it's back on the road to take on Lubbock Christian (Feb. 12) and Midwestern St. (Feb. 14).

Keeping with their flip-flopping road-home schedule, the Javelinas will then have their final home games of the season with contests against West Texas A&M (Feb. 19) and Eastern New Mexico (Feb. 21), before wrapping up their regular season with road games against UT-Tyler (Feb. 26) and Texas Woman's (Feb 28).

The team has its sights set on a return to the LSC Tournament, which is set to be played in Frisco on March 4-7, with Regional play in the D2 NCAA Tournament set for March 12-16.

"Our focus remains the same and that is to simply go 1-0 each day and play in March," Madrid said.
