Kingsville - Fresh off of a historic season, the Texas A&M - Kingsville women's basketball team is ready to make more behind the strength of its newly-announced 12-woman signing class.
Made up of five incoming freshmen and seven transfer athletes, the new class rounds out a roster of 15 ahead of the 2025-26 season, announced Head Coach
Michael Madrid.Â
"We have a solid mixture of experience, transfers and freshmen in our recruiting class," Madrid said. "Each player brings their own unique style of play and we look forward to connecting them throughout the year. What stands out most about this group is their commitment to excellence in the classroom. They value their education and are driven to excellence on and off the floor. They have each been putting in the work this summer and we will hit the ground running once everyone arrives on campus in August."
Justine Aguilar - Flour Bluff HS - Fr.
The first signee of the class, Aguilar stayed close to home, joining the Javelinas after four stellar years with the Flour Bluff Lady Hornets. She led her squad to a 25-6 overall record her senior year, including a 14-0 finish in district play. The 6'0 forward/guard capped off her year with a selection to the Texas Girls' Coaches Association All-State Team.
"Justine is an athletic forward that can run the floor, rebound out of her area and guard multiple positions," Madrid said. "She is a versatile player that can finish around the rim and score on the perimeter. Justine is a multi-sport athlete that does everything full speed and loves to compete."
Landri Richey - Farwell HS - Fr.
The 5'10 incoming freshman boasts almost unbelievable numbers from a storied high school career. A multi-time All-State player, Richey led the Farwell Steers (2AD2) to the UIL State Championship game, falling just two points shy of a state title her senior year. Across 39 games her final season, she averaged 12.6 points, 5.5 assists, 6.8 rebounds, 2.9 steals, and 4.1 blocks per game. On five separate occasions she posted at least seven blocks in a game and twice recorded a triple double.Â
"Landri is a winner," Madrid said. "She led her team to the state tournament and affected each game in many ways. Her versatility allows her to finish around the rim and shoot from the perimeter. She is long which will help us defensively as well as provide offensive opportunities."
Ava Mitchell - San Antonio Johnson HS - Fr.
The 5'7 PG/SG helped the Lady Cougars of Claudia Taylor Johnson HS (6A) to a 23-13 record and a playoff appearance. A slashing, two-way guard, Mitchell averaged 2.0 steals per game during her senior season while also adding 2.4 assists and 3.3 rebounds per contest, and was named Second Team All-District (27) for her efforts.
"Ava is an athletic guard that plays extremely hard and competes every possession," Madrid said. "Ava has the ability to get to the rim and disrupt teams with her defensive pressure and intensity. Look forward to seeing her growth over the next four years."
Renata Parga - Ronald Reagan HS - Fr.
Hailing from the same district as her now-teammate Mitchell, Parga led the Ronald Raegan High School Lady Rattlers (6A) to a 17-15 record. The 5'11 forward averaged 10.2 points, and 5.3 rebounds per game while shooting 36% from distance (3.3 3PApg) during her senior year. She recorded three double-doubles, and pulled down eight or more rebounds nine different times during her final year. She was named to the All-District Second Team (27).
"Renata is a solid forward that can step out and stretch the defense," Madrid said. "Her ability to shoot the 3 and score will add depth to our back court. She is a skilled player that will continue to grow and develop. Her best basketball is yet to be played."
Jade Perez - Clark HS - Fr.
The third soon-to-be-Javelina hailing from the 27th district of 6A in San Antonio, Perez comes to Kingsville after a strong high school career with the Clark Cougars. The 5'7 guard was named Unanimous First Team All District in her senior year and played in the San Antonio Sports girls' basketball All-Star Game, winning the weekend's Three Point Contest.Â
"Jade is a fundamental guard that has the ability to play lead guard or the wing," Madrid said. "She is steady and solid. She can get to the rim and shoot the three. She has a tremendous motor and will develop over the next four years into a quality guard in our program."

Thalia Daniels - Regis U - Transfer - So.
Daniels comes to Kingsville from Peoria, AZ after spending a year playing at Regis (D2 - RMAC), where she appeared in 13 games for the Rangers.

After three years of D1 ball, Howell is coming back home (Rockport) to play in the blue and gold. Before injuries kept her sidelined for the 2024-25 season, Howell played 49 games across two seasons for the University of the Incarnate Word Cardinals (D1 - SLC).
"Kaylee is a long, athletic forward that can run the floor, finish around the rim and score facing the basket," Madrid said. Her length will allow her to defend multiple positions and provide match up opportunities. Excited to see her grow and develop over the next two seasons."
Endija Sedlina - Midland College - Transfer - Jr.

"Endi is a strong guard that can get to the rim, score in the mid-range and stretch the defense to the 3PT line," Madrid said. "Her experience at Midland College over the last two seasons against some of the best junior college programs in the country will provide immediate experience to our back court."
Evelyn Quiroz - St. Mary's - Transfer - Gr.
A veteran of the Lone Star, the 5'5 guard joins the Javelinas after spending two years each with Texas A&M - International and St. Mary's.
