Kingsville - After a disappointing, 0-4, weekend, the Texas A&M - Kingsville softball team looks to get back on track with four straight games against Texas A&M - International split across a pair of doubleheaders against the Dustdevils.

They will play the Dustdevils in two different doubleheader in two different places this weekend - they will start with a noon doubleheader on Friday in Laredo before returning to Vernie and Blanche Hubert Field in Kingsville for a noon doubleheader on Sunday.

The Dustdevils are 19-20 overall and 13-15 in LSC play. With each LSC game becoming all the more important as both teams approach the stretch run of the season, the winner of this weekend's four games - if there is one - will take a big step toward a spot in the postseason tournament.

TAMIU enters the weekend having lost two tight games in a row against Oklahoma Christian, but had won four of its previous five before those losses. While driving in runs has been very difficult for International, its 345 hits as a team are the second-most in the conference. It's .388 slugging percentage, however, is 13th in the LSC. 

Once again, Kingsville's offense against its opponent's defense will likely make or break the series. The Javelinas have a pair of starting freshman pitchers who have improved greatly as the season has gone on, but lately their offense has cooled off a bit after a red-hot start to the season. They will look to get back on track against a pitching staff that has struggled keeping runs off the board this season.

Graduate student outfielder Lindsey Evans enters the weekend hitting .456, the fifth-best mark in the LSC
Graduate student outfielder AJ Jasso and freshman third baseman Alexis Soliz are 40th and 42nd in the conference in batting average - hitting .346 and .342 respectively. 
Jasso and sophomore Dakota Martinez are tied for the team lead in RBIs with 27 (the 27th-most in the LSC) - the team has six different players with at least 16
Freshman right hander Arianna Alaniz's 139 strikeouts are tied for the LSC lead and tied for the eighth-most in the NCAA this year - she ranks fifth in the nation in strikeouts per seven innings with 10.1
Alaniz has already won multiple LSC Pitcher of the Week awards in her young career, having thrown a five-inning no-hitter against No.22 Lubbock Christian - she has already posted four games this season with double digit strikeouts, and has thrown three complete-game shutouts
Kingsville has four players, Laney Doelitsch, Martinez, Evans, and AJ Jasso with at least four homers on the season - Evans and Martinez each have six (tied for 16th in the Lone Star)
