Gulf Shores, AL. - Texas A&M-Kingsville advanced to the gold bracket, but dropped the match for seeding at the Challenge Rounds of the AVCA Small-College Championships.

The Javelinas (24-12) punched their ticket to the national-championship bracket with a 3-0 win over Saint Leo University before falling in the gold-bracket seeding match 0-3 to the University of Tampa. Despite the loss, the Hogs are still one of the six teams remaining in contention for the national championship.

Joining the Javelinas in the gold bracket are Concordia Irvine, University of Tampa, Spring Hills College, Colorado-Mesa and Palm Beach Atlantic University. Of the other five teams in the bracket, the Javelinas have already faced off against three of the five teams before the tournament, posting a 1-3 record against those teams.
