First baseman
Kaylynne Ruiz, second baseman
Sophie Campbell, and outfielders
AJ Jasso and
Lindsey Evans will all be playing in their final home games for TAMUK, hoping to secure a season-series win over the Pioneers, who split with the Javelinas when the two teams faced off just over a month ago. After winning game one of that March 14th matchup, 2-0, the Javelinas fell in a hard-fought, 4-3, finish.
They'll now try to get their offense revved up against a Pioneers squad that has allowed opponents to top five runs in just one of its last eight games. On the flip side of the ball, the Javelinas will have the perfect opportunity to get their pitching staff back into the swing of things against a TWU squad that hasn't scored more than five runs in a game since March 19th.
With the race for the final LSC Tournament spots coming down to the wire, TAMUK is in must-win mode, three games back from the No.8 spot with six games remaining on its schedule. TWU, meanwhile, is just one game above Kingsville, stacking even more significance on to the Senior Day matchup.
