The Aggies have been surging as of late, entering Friday's matchup fresh off of a pair of ranked wins over Oklahoma Christian. After a slow start to the conference season, they have won four of their last six games and bring momentum into the back half of the divisional schedule.Â
Kingsville's offense has struggled as of late, having put up just two runs total across its last three games. It has the perfect opportunity to get its bats warm again as the team faces off with a Cameron pitching staff that has the 12th-best team ERA in the conference. Cameron also has the 11th-best opponent batting average.Â
Cameron's offense will battle with the Javelina defense led by a pair of freshman pitchers, Alaniz and Martinez. The Aggie offense will be a tough one to slow down, as it boasts the sixth-best batting average and seventh-best on-base percentage. They have plated the sixth-most runs in the conference as well.
First pitch for the doubleheader matchup is set for 4 p.m. in Cameron, where it is forecasted to be sunny in the low 80s during gametime.
