Javelinas head to Arkansas for final regular season tournament

Conaway, AR. - Texas A&M-Kingsville leaves the friendly confines of Texas and heads east to Arkansas for the UCA Invitational hosted by the University of Central Arkansas on Friday.

The Javelinas (18-10) are looking to build off of a 2-2 finish at the Islander Classic in Corpus Christi heading into the final regular season tournament. Facing off against the Hogs at the Beach Bear Sand Courts are Hendrix College, UT-Martin and UCA.

Historically, the Javelinas do not share much history with the teams in Conaway. This tournament will be the first time that UT-Martin and the Hogs face off on the sand, and just the second and fourth time the Javelinas have taken on the Warriors and Bears respectively.

Program History on the Line:
This weekend's tournament has major historical implications for the Javelina Beach Volleyball program. Should the Javelinas earn three wins at Conaway, it will set a new program record for most team wins in a season. The current record is 20 wins during the 2018 season, in which the Javelinas won the AVCA Division II National Championship.

Top Seed on the Line:
The UCA Invite holds major implications for the Javelinas heading into the AVCA Small-College Championship. Depending on the results of the tournament, the Hogs could find themselves with a top-six seed at the championship. Each team is seeded at the AVCA tournament, with the top seeds earning the top spot in each of the six pools to begin the tournament in Tavares, Florida, next week.

Texas A&M-Kingsville opens up the UCA Invitational Friday at 10:00 am against Hendrix College from Conaway.
