Kingsville - Texas A&M-Kingsville returns to the Steinke Physical Education Center to begin a five-game homestand against MSU-Denver Thursday at 6:30 pm.
The Javelinas (1-1) get to come back to friendly confines after splitting back-to-back games in Rapid City, South Dakota, against South Dakota Mines. Kicking off five-straight home contests will be the Roadrunners (1-1) who split their opening slate of games against Lone Star Conference members Texas A&M-International and Sul Ross State.
MSU-Denver presents a high-powered offense to the Javelinas through the early goings of the season, scoring 104.5 points through their first two games. The defense for the Roadrunners has not found their footing however, giving up 105 points per game.
Meanwhile, the Javelinas have continued their standard of creating disruption on the defensive end. Texas A&M-Kingsville forced 35 turnovers across two games against the Hardrockers, led by
Bryce Smith who had five steals across two games while averaging 10 points and 3.5 rebounds.
While Smith has been a key contributor offensively for the Javelinas, the team is led by true freshman
Jadon Sautter in points per game. The Overland Park, Kansas, native is averaging 12 points with three rebounds while shooting 50 percent from beyond the arc all off the bench for the Javelinas.
Tip-off for Thursday's action is set for 6:30 pm from the SPEC. Fans of the Javelinas can watch the game on FloCollege or follow the game at JavelinaMBB on X.
