Kingsville - Texas A&M-Kingsville is set to host St. Edward's University for Pack the House night at the Steinke Physical Education Center on Thursday.
The Javelinas (9-10, 5-8 Lone Star Conference) are coming off a 1-1 week last week after splitting their matchups between Western New Mexico and Sul Ross State. Now, Texas A&M-Kingsville returns home for an incredibly important matchup against the Hilltoppers (12-9, 6-6 LSC).
In the previous matchup, the Javelinas struggled to run the Hilltoppers off the three-point line, as St. Edward's hit 13 3-pointers and scored 92 points. However, in the last five games, Texas A&M-Kingsville has won three of those five games giving up an average of 70.6 points per game.
A big boost to this five game stretch has been sophomore guard
Jake Arnold. The transfer from Houston Christian has averaged 10 points per game and five rebounds per game. Arnold also has been placed in the starting lineup in the last four games for the Javelinas.
Joining him as major contributors for Texas A&M-Kingsville is
Jordan Henderson. Starting in every game he appeared in, Henderson scored in double figures for the first time in his career with 10 points against Sul Ross State and is third on the team with 3.7 rebounds per game.
Tip-off for Pack the House night is set for 7:30 p.m. CST with the game being streamed on FloCollege. Fans of the Javelinas can follow live coverage through live stats or at JavelinaMBB on Twitter.
