Kingsville - Texas A&M-Kingsville looks to get its first win of 2025 against Oklahoma Christian Saturday at the Steinke Physical Education Center.
The Javelinas (6-8, 2-6 Lone Star Conference) lost in excruciating fashion to the Cameron Aggies in their last contest on Thursday, falling in another overtime loss. That game marked the third game this season that went to overtime and their second game in as many weeks.
Now, the Javelinas face off against another Oklahoma team in the Eagles (5-8, 2-6 LSC) who suffered a heartbreaking loss against Texas A&M-International on Thursday.
Leading the way for the Eagles is senior guard Keyondre Young. Averaging 17.4 points per game this season, the DePaul transfer has been the driving force for Oklahoma Christian this season in offense with three games over 25 points.
While his stats may not be as gaudy, sophomore
Zyon Little's play has been a vital piece of the Javelina team. The forward from Dickinson, Texas, is averaging 8.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per game with two 20-point games under his belt.
Another big impact guard for the Javelinas has been
Allen Singleton. Finishing with a career-high seven assists against Cameron, Singleton has been a key figure in the Javelinas backcourt and leads the team in assists per game.
Tip-off for Saturday's contest is set for 3:00 p.m. CST with the game being streamed on Flosports. Fans of the Javelinas can follow live coverage at JavelinaMBB on Twitter.
