KINGSVILLE, Texas — The Texas A&M-Kingsville Beach Volleyball Team traveled to Tempe, Arizona on the campus of Arizona State where they would match up against the Colorado Mesa Mavericks on day one of the Sun Devil Invitational .
Starting out the matchup finishing first was court no. 4 where
Liana Huesca and
Taylor McCarthy would go down in two sets 18-21 then 16-21.
Following them in finish order would be flight no. 2 where
Adrienne VanBrunt and
Grace Gettys would start strong taking set one 24-22 before Mesa would rally and take the next one 6-21 setting up a third set where they would fall 12-15.
The No. 3 pair of
Olivia Zeigler and
Madelyn Wallace would go down early dropping set one 16-21 before powering back and taking set two 21-11 sending things to a third where they would come out on top 15-13.
Court No. 1 saw the combination of
Kalani Vasquez and
Rylan Pollard drop things in two 10-21 then 12-21 being the third court dropped in the match.
The no. 5 and final court finishing on the evening was
Meghan Stiefer and
Rylie Anderson taking set one with a commanding 21-9 victory, then dropping set two 23-25 before taking the third 15-13.
The Javelinas are back out at the Sun Devil Invitational next time out this time taking host school Arizona State at 11:00 A.M and Park University at 3:00 P.M.
