KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville Women's Basketball Team prepares for the rematch between the Javelinas and Oklahoma Christian Eagles. This game opens up a four game homestand meaning two whole weeks for the Javelinas in the Steinke Physical Education Center. The Javelinas beat the Eagles last time out 60-57 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the Payne Athletic Center.
The Javelinas (9-13, 5-10 LSC) are heading into Thursdays matchup after dropping last time out to the St. Mary's Rattlers 54-62. The Rattlers outshot the Javelinas in three major categories, FG%, (39.6%-27.3%) 3PT%, (35.3%-24.1%) and FT% (90.0%-61.1%). The Javelinas did excel in the stealing department as they were able to get 11 compared to the Rattlers 8.
Oklahoma Christian (3-16, 2-13 LSC) comes into Thursday on a four-game skid dropping one to the UT-Tyler Patriots last time out 63-65. The Eagles were outmatched but close in all major shooting categories shooting 44.0% from the field as opposed to the Patriots 44.4%. They did however outrebound the Pats as they were able to grab 37 boards as opposed to UT-Tylers 24.
The Javelinas and Eagles have met 6 times dating back to the 2017-18 season. The all-time record between both squads is currently knotted at 3 apiece.
