Odessa - Texas A&M-Kingsville will look for its first conference win this season as they take on UT-Permian Basin Saturday at the Falcon Dome.
The Javelinas (4-4, 0-2 Lone Star Conference) are coming off a tough game against San Angelo on Thursday in which they brought the game within a single point late in the second half. The Rams then used two late 3-pointers to create distance between themselves and the Javelinas and take the win in San Angelo.
Facing Texas A&M-Kingsville next is a one-loss Falcon (5-1, 2-0 LSC) team who has proven to be a strong test for the Javelinas in the LSC. UTPB is coming off a very solid win over fellow LSC foe Texas A&M-International in which they held the Dustdevils to just 59 points.
The Falcons have one of the most high-flying offenses in the conference, averaging just over 77 points a game. However the Javelinas have held their opponents to just at 70 points a game while maintaining their position at second place in the turnover margin department.
Junior guard
Allen Singleton has been on a tear as of late. The League City native has averaged 12.6 points per game on 51 percent shooting over the past three games while also hitting three buzzer beaters this season.Â
Tip-off for Saturday's contest is set for 3:00 p.m. CST with the game being streamed on Flosports. Fans of the Javelinas can follow the game through live stats or at JavelinaMBB on Twitter.
