San Angelo - Texas A&M-Kingsville continues its road trip against Angelo State Thursday at Stephens Arena in the Junell Center.
The Javelinas (4-3, 0-1 Lone Star Conference) are coming off of a 1-0 week in which they took the Victory against the reigning Great American Conference champion Southeastern Oklahoma. Texas A&M-Kingsville also faced division I Texas Southern University, in which they battled the Tigers to the very end of the game.
Now, with just LSC foes in front of them, the Javelinas face off against a familiar foe in the Rams (3-2, 0-1 LSC). Historically the matchup has favored Angelo State with last season's game going to the Rams in an 81-85 overtime thriller.
This season's matchup shapes up to be a high-level defensive performance from both teams. The Javelinas and Rams sit with the seventh and the third best scoring defense in the conference respectively.Â
An important difference between the two teams however may be the turnover game, which has been the biggest strength of the Javelinas this season. Texas A&M-Kingsville has forced the fourth most turnovers in the LSC with 121 and have the second highest turnover margin with 8.21. Angelo State has the seventh fewest turnovers in the conference, but only has a 1.40 turnover ratio this season.
Tip-off for Thursday's game is set for 7:30 p.m. CST with the game being streamed on Flosports. Fans of the Javelinas can follow live coverage of the game with live stats or at JavelinaMBB on Twitter.
