Javelinas open conference play in Laredo

Laredo, TX - Texas A&M-Kingsville opens up Lone Star Conference play on the road as it takes on Texas A&M-International Saturday at the TAMIU Convocation Center.

The Javelinas (3-2, 0-0 LSC) are coming off a convincing win against the College of Biblical Studies, where a balanced offensive attack powered Texas A&M-Kingsville to a win. Nine different Javelinas scored at least five points and every Javelina who touched the floor scored at least once.

Now, Texas A&M-Kingsville takse on their first conference foe of the year in the Dustdevils (3-3, 0-0 LSC) who finished last season with a 18-12 overall record and a 13-9 record in conference play.

Both the Javelinas and Dustdevils have faced similar competition this season, facing off against South Dakota Mines and Chadron State respectively. While Texas A&M-Kingsville was able to take down both the Hardrockers and Eagles, Texas A&M-International fell in a hard-fought contest against Chadron State in its home opener.

Historically, this matchup has favored the Javelinas. Texas A&M-Kingsville holds a 20-10 all-time record against the Dustdevils. The last time the teams faced each other however, it was Texas A&M-International who came out on top in Kingsville.

Tip-off for Saturday's game is set for 3:00 p.m. CST from the TAMIU Convocation Center. Fans of the Javelinas can watch on Flosports or follow live coverage at JavelinaMBB on Twitter.
