KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville men's basketball team is on the road again as they finish out a four-game road stint against #4 Dallas Baptist and UT Tyler. The Hogs take on their first set of Patriots on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Dallas. Then, the Hogs make the short drive to Tyler to take on their second set of Patriots on Saturday at 3 p.m.
The Javelinas (3-11, LSC 1-8) are looking to get back in the win column after dropping an overtime decision to Oklahoma Christian. The Hogs have gone to overtime four times this season, including an exhibition against Mary Hardin-Baylor, and are 2-2 in those games.
C.J. Smith exploded for a new career-high 33 points in the matchup against OCU on 10-of-17 shooting, eclipsing the previous career-high of 27 points he set earlier this season against UT Permian Basin. He also put up a new season-high in rebounding with six total boards alongside six assists.
Marcus Jones-Green led the scoring for the Javelinas against UA Fort Smith with 16 points, a new season-high for him as well, as well as five rebounds and an assist.
Allen Singleton posted double-digit points in both games, the only Javelina to do so, with 10 against UAFS and 13 against OCU. Singleton also led the team in rebounding against OCU with eight and led in assists against UAFS with three.
The Javelinas are 4-2 in the recent series against both DBU and UT Tyler, including winning the last two against Tyler, but DBU took the victory in the most recent meeting of the two squads.

DBU comes into the weekend ranked #4 nationally in the NABC Coaches' Poll and #7 in the D2CSC Media Poll.
The Patriots are 13-1 on the season, only dropping a game to Eastern New Mexico on Dec. 9, 94-104.
Cameron Kahn has been prolific for DBU, leading the Patriots in both scoring (20.5 PPG) and rebounding (99 total rebounds).
Three other Patriots average double-digit points as well. Ricky Lujan sits as the second top-scorer averaging 15.6 PPG while Deng Dut averages 10.3 PPG and leads the team in assists with 49.
SCOUTING UT TYLER
UT Tyler is coming off an 0-2 weekend after dropping games to St. Edward's and St. Mary's. The Patriots are 2-12 on the season and 1-7 in LSC play.
Bryce Roberts is the only Patriot for UTT averaging double-digit points this season at 14.0 PPG. Jonathan Jackson does average 12.0 PPG but has played in less than half the Patriots' games this season.
Alec Zambie leads UTT in both assists and rebounds with 45 assists and 87 rebounds. He is 21 assists and 36 rebounds ahead of second-place in said categories.
UTT has been balanced when it comes to taking away the ball and keeping possession. The Patriots have 203 turnovers to their opposition's 189 while grabbing 99 steals to their opponent's 96.
