Cassie Anderson named first inductee of 2023 Javelina Hall of Fame class

Former All-American and Javelina Softball legend to enter Hall of Fame in February

KINGSVILLE, Texas – Texas A&M-Kingsville and Javelina Athletics has announced Cassie Anderson as the first member of the 2023 Javelina Hall of Fame class.

Anderson will be the fourth former softball student-athlete to be inducted into the hall of fame after a stellar career from 2007-2010 that included being named a Daktronics and Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-American in 2009. At the time, she was only the second Javelina to earn the NFCA honor along with Kassie Rezza who was inducted in 2021.

In the 2009 season, Anderson set school records in batting average (.437) and on-base percentage (.485) leading the team with 29 RBIs, and 20 extra-base hits including four triples primarily from the leadoff spot in the lineup. She also set the current school and Lone Star Conference record with the longest hitting streak of 26 games in that season.

In her three-year career from 2007-2010 she led the Javelinas to three straight LSC postseason appearances being named to multiple postseason teams including; all-Lone Star Conference South Division, first-team NFCA South Central Region and first-team Daktronics South Central Region.

Anderson is the first of four individuals that will make up the 2023 induction class that will be announced in the upcoming weeks, with the induction ceremony set for this coming February.
