LAWTON, Okla. - Texas A&M-Kingsville dropped its series finale on the road against Cameron, 4-3 on Saturday afternoon.
The Javelinas (12-14, 9-9 LSC) were able to extend the game, finding a run with two outs in the top of the seventh to tie the game at 3-3 before the Aggies (15-12, 12-9 LSC) won the game in the bottom half of the inning with a walk-off home run.
Just as they did in game one of the series, the Blue and Gold struck first, as Natalie Rodriguez scored Breanna Carr on a sacrifice fly in the third inning to take a 1-0 lead.
CU tied and then took the lead in the bottom half of the third inning via an RBI double to left center to then a double steal of second and home to take the lead, 2-1.
In the fifth, Rodriguez reached on a throwing error by the Aggies which allowed Carr to score her second run of the game tying it up at 2-2.
An inning later, the Aggies took back the lead after an errant throw allowed an Aggie runner to score from second.
In the seventh, Jory Cervantes singled to lead off the inning for the Javs and after reaching second on a throwing error, the sixth-year senior was brought in to score by a two-out Aaliyah Ortiz double down the left field line tying the game at three.
CU took the game quickly in the bottom half of the seventh however, with a lead off solo home run for the 4-3 walk off win.
The Javs now prepare for a three-game series against Angelo State at home beginning on Tuesday.
