Javelinas to open up Lone Star Conference play

TAMUK opens up LSC play facing off against Angelo State Rambelles

KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's basketball team prepares for conference play and their home opener as they will face off against the Angelo State Rambelles Thursday at 5:30 P.M.

The Javelinas (4-3, 0-0 LSC) are heading into Thursday's matchup after taking down the #12 Missouri Western State Griffons 62-48. The Javelinas shot 40.9% from the field and 20.0% from beyond the arc, in a game that saw the blue and gold out shoot their opponent in every category as well as out rebound their opponent 39-34.

Angelo State (4-3, 0-0 LSC) comes into Thursday after a 53-63 loss at the hands of the #15 Tampa Spartans, where they shot 31.4% from the field and 25.0% from three.

The Javelinas and Rambelles are familiar foes as they have met 28 times the Rambelles holding the overall matchup with a 22-6 all time record. The last matchup between these squads being a home matchup for the rambelles where they took the game 72-61 in the 2022-23 season.
