DALLAS, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville volleyball team matched up in the Lone Star Conference championship Saturday where they fell short of the West Texas Lady Buffs in three sets (16-25, 16-25, 10-25).
The Javelinas (21-10, 11-5 LSC) came into Saturday after defeating the number one seed and host institution DBU to take them to the final round and championship game of the LSC Tournament three sets to one.

Tanya Allen-Gonzalez. "But overall a good tournament and I'm still very proud of the team".
The Javelinas ended the day with a .083 hitting percentage and 2 blocks on the evening. Three Javelinas, Senior

Allison Stachowiak and Sophomore
Madelyn Wallace all had five kills on the day which was the high for the Javelinas. Junior middle blocker
Ayanna Jackson had both of the teams blocks on the day while also having three kills.
Set one began with both squads going point for point before the Javelinas rattled off three straight putting them in the lead early 4-2. The Lady Buffs would go on a 3-0 run of their own putting them up 5-4 before the Javelinas stopped the run tying it at 5 all. The Lady Buffs would go on a huge 6-2 run before the Javelinas would cool things off with a timeout. WT would come out of the timeout still hot as they were able to go 3-1 increasing the lead to six making it a 8-14 set. The Javelinas turned it on however going on a 3-0 run getting within three at 11-14. The Blue and gold would take another timeout but not before another three WT points made things 11-17.
Ayanna Jackson got things going right out of the timeout with a kill to stop the run, but the Lady Buffs would go on a 7-2 run before the next Javelina rally. The Javelinas able to get two consecutive late before WT ended set one 16-25.
Set two began with the Javelinas starting out nabbing the first score before WT took the lead 2-1 the Javelinas would promptly tie it at 2 apiece, this however being the last time the set was tied. The Lady Buffs would go on a 5-1 run putting the set at 7-3. The Javelinas would go point for point with WT for the next seven scores making it 10-13 before the Lady Buffs would go on a 3-0 run stopped by a Javelina timeout. The Javelinas would score straight out of the timeout making it 13-18 but surrender five straight to WT who made it 13-23. The Javelinas still alive would see three straight before the Lady Buffs would take set two 25-16.
Set three would see the Lady buffs come out the gates with an 11-1 run before the Javelinas responded with an
Allison Stachowiak kill putting it at 2-11. The Javelinas would take another from the Lady Buffs but not before another three points were tacked on making it 3-14. The Javelinas able to stop an extended run until the 7-18 point where WT would rattle off five straight getting to 7-23. The Javelinas would go on a 3-1 run of their own making it 10-24 before the Lady Buffs took set three and the match.
