KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville volleyball team is back at the Steinke Physical Education Center to take on the Angelo State Rambelles.
The Javelinas (15-6, 7-2 LSC) are going into Friday's match after a thrilling five set victory Wednesday night, taking down the St. Edwards Hilltoppers. The Blue and Gold are now trying to continue the hot streak, as well as defend their home court again as they have already played the Rambelles once this season during tournament play wining that match in five sets 3-2.
The Rambelles come into the match ranked second in the conference and the Javelinas tied for the fourth-place spot with UAFS. Angelo State also ranking in the top of the conference in most categories except for blocks where the Javelinas rank higher at 6
th, while the Rambelles find themselves at 14
th. The Javelinas however have Junior middle blocker
Ayanna Jackson who is third in the Lone Star Conference in hitting percentage with a .372, and looks to continue her dominance on the court.
Angelo State (19-3, 9-1 LSC) comes into Friday not having a midweek game, however still being able to sweep their last three opponents. The most recent opponent being St. Mary's where they hit a .241 as a team and had eight blocks on the day.
The Javelinas and Rambelles have met 26 total times, where the Javs hold a 6-20 all-time record. The last time these squads met was earlier this season where the Javelinas took down the Rambelles in five sets. This match however was not a conference matchup due to it being the LSC Preview Tournament.
