KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville volleyball team returns home once more to match up against the UT-Tyler Patriots.
The Javelinas (11-6, 3-2 LSC) are going into Saturdays match fresh off an upset, beating number two in the conference DBU. The Blue and Gold now trying to continue their home dominance as they play one more home matchup, this time a Homecoming Matchup, before hitting the road once more .
Fans that show up early before the match will receive a limited edition Homecoming rally towel provided by EmbroidMe.
Junior middle blocker
Ayanna Jackson comes into Saturday still hot off a 19 kill, five block performance a night prior, with a .567 hitting percentage. Senior outside hitter
Jackie Alanis also leading the homecoming charge with 13 kills and a .375 hitting percentage, bringing all the momentum from a night prior into Saturdays matchup.
UT-Tyler (10-8, 4-3 LSC) comes into Saturday after a three sets to none loss to the Texas A&M International Dustdevils. This in part due to a .126 team hitting percentage.
Heading into Saturday's match, the Javelinas hold a 1-4 all-time record against the Patriots. The only victory for the Javelinas coming in 2019. The Javelinas and Patriots however have never squared off in the Steinke Physical Education Center, only playing neutral matches or in Tyler, Texas. This match being the first to take place in Kingsville between these squads.
