KINGSVILLE, Texas – Texas A&M – Kingsville's men's basketball team is heading out for their longest in conference road trip of the season this week, facing Western New Mexico on Thursday night at 8:30 p.m. and Eastern New Mexico on Saturday at 4 p.m.
The Javelinas (13-5, 7-3 LSC) take their eight-game winning streak on the road after a perfect homestand across the past two weeks including wins over Dallas Baptist and UT Tyler last week.
Against UT Tyler, TAMUK erased an 11 point halftime deficit on the way to a 66-59 win over the Patriots.
For the team's performance, head coach Johnny Estelle was selected as the HoopDirt.com national Coach of the Week for all of Division II.
The Javelinas head to the "Land of Enchantment" leading the Lone Star Conference in a handful of categories including turnovers forced per game which they are ninth in the nation in, scoring defense, and turnover margin with a mark of +7.4 good for third in all of Division II.

SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS
Western New Mexico (10-6, 4-6 LSC), welcome the Javelinas to Silver City after going 1-1 last week falling to the Buffs of West Texas A&M before knocking off Lubbock Christian, 76-67.
The win over the Chaps marked the Mustangs' first since 1976, and their first ever in LCU's Rip Center.
WNMU is led offensively by its fifth-year guard Keith Littles who is averaging a team best 9.8 points per game.
Defensively, Olamide Pedersen sets the standard for the mustangs. The six-foot nine-inch senior from Denmark leads the LSC in blocks and blocks per game averaging just over two per contest. Pedersen is also ninth in the league in offensive rebounds per game.
Thursday night's contest marks the first time the Javelinas and Mustangs have met on the hardwood since last playing in 2019 after COVID-19 prevented meetings the last two regular seasons.
SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
In Portales, Eastern New Mexico enters the week on a three-game skid after four games in a row on the road, falling short in an offensive shootout 108-97 last time out against West Texas A&M.
Despite this, the Greyhounds are undefeated inside Greyhound Arena this season, currently a perfect 8-0.
ENMU is second as a team in the LSC in free throw attempts per game and third in free throws made per game, scoring 17.4 points per game from the line. However, the Greyhounds are thirteenth in the league in free throw percentage with a mark of 67.7 percent on the season.
The Hounds also turn ball over the most of any team in the conference with an average of 17.2 turnovers per game.
Individually, sophomore forward Errol White leads the conference in rebounds per game averaging 9.2 boards per game.
