LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the second straight year, the Texas A&M-Kingsville beach volleyball team was honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, receiving a USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award, it was announced on Monday.

The Javelinas were one of only seven beach programs in Division II to earn this distinction and they did so by posting a team GPA of 3.36. The Javs crafted that mark while also putting together a season in which they piled up 19 wins, tied for the second-most in program history.

The USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award has been handed out at the end of every season since the 1992-93 academic year and goes to college and high school teams that maintain a 3.3 GPA. The full AVCA press release can be found here and a complete list of recipients can be found here.
