MARSHALL, Minn. (D2CCA)- On Wednesday, the Division II Collegiate Commissioners Association released its 2022 All-America list, with senior
Giancarlo Servin (Edinburg, Texas) representing the Texas A&M-Kingsville on the organization's Third-Team at the utility position.
After making the All-South Central team, Servin now adds this honor to his trophy case, which includes a pair of First-Team All-Lone Star Conference honors and a National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-Region selection.
Servin made the cut as a non-pitcher utility player, with the Edinburg native splitting the season between second and third base, logging 27 games at either position and helping his team turn 15 double plays with 60 putouts and 95 assists. Additionally, he started every game for the Blue and Gold during a 33-win season that included an NCAA South Central Regional Tournament berth.
He posted a .365 batting average at the dish, mashing a team-high 13 home runs on the year. Servin also topped the squad with 54 RBIs and in hits with 70, registering 123 total bases on the year. He wrapped up his farewell season with a stellar 1.079 OPS, thanks to a .641 slugging percentage.
Servin remains in the running for the NCBWA All-American team, which will be announced on Thursday, June 2.
