RICHARDSON, Texas- Sophomore
Nick Wolff (Klein, Texas) was named Lone Star Conference Hitter of the Week for the second time this season in a league release on Tuesday, after having a stellar series on the road against the St. Edwards Hilltoppers.
On the weekend, Wolff posted a superb .643 batting average, driving four runs in and denting the plate nine times. He slugged 1.214 thanks to a pair of doubles and two home runs, while working two walks in the process. Additionally, Wolff caught all four games for the Javelinas, maintaining a perfect fielding percentage with 29 putouts and three assists.
The sophomore from Klein has now earned the award twice this season, after winning it the week of March 28, and represents the first batting honoree to claim the honor multiple times in 2022.
Wolff and the Javelinas now gear up for a showdown against West Texas A&M, who sit atop the conference standings with a 31-9 league mark. The Buffaloes will visit Nolan Ryan Field for a four-game series beginning Friday at 6 p.m. in Kingsville, Texas.
