PEMBROKE, N.C. / DALLAS- Sophomore
Nick Wolff's (Klein, Texas) dominance at the plate has earned him the title of NCBWA South Central Region Hitter of the Week honors in a Wednesday news release by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. The organization has also announced that the Texas A&M-Kingsville baseball team is receiving votes nationally in a separate release.
Additionally, this honor comes shortly after the Klien, Texas native was named Lone Star Conference Hitter of the Week for his performance at the plate in a road-series split against #10 Angelo State.
Wolff maintained a .583 batting average against the Rams, smashing three home runs and collecting 11 RBIs over the weekend. Additionally, Wolff crossed the plate eight times for the Javelinas with a 1.500 slugging percentage. He earned three walks and two doubles, assisting a team that scored 38 total runs during the weekend, including 18 in the series finale.

Logan Garza (Round Rock, Texas) won the pitching iteration of the award on Feb. 23, marking the last TAMUK student-athlete to be honored by the NCBWA, while the previous hitter to earn recognition was Hayden Vessley in the 2016 season.
The NCBWA has also announced that the Javelinas are back among those receiving votes for the first time since the week of Mar. 9 following the team's road split with then ranked No. 10 Angelo State. Three other LSC programs join TAMUK in the rankings as West Texas A&M sits fifth, while the Rams dropped to 15th and Lubbock Christian occupies 19th. Regionally, the organization has slotted the Javelinas fifth.
Wolff and the Pack are set to host Texas A&M International this week, with a four-game Lone Star Conference Series slated to begin at 6 p.m. on Friday at Nolan Ryan Field.
