KINGSVILLE, Texas – Texas A&M-Kingsville's men's basketball team will hit the road for the first time this season, as they head to Aberdeen, South Dakota this weekend for the Dacotah Bank Classic.

The Javelinas (3-1, 0-0 LSC) tip things off on Friday at 7 p.m. against the hosting (RV) Northern State Wolves before taking on the Golden Eagles of Minnesota Crookston at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

In the win over the Mountaineers, the Hogs were led by C.J. Smith who led the way offensively with 15 points, three rebounds, and two steals. Kavon Booker finished just shy of a double-double with eight points, 11 rebounds, and two steals.

SCOUTING THE WOLVES

NSU is led by Sam Masten who leads the team averaging 19.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, shooting 55% from the floor. Masten also leads the team in assists with 29 on the season so far.

Right behind Masten offensively for the Wolves are Jordan Belka and Jacksen Moni who are averaging 14.6 and 13 points per game this season.

This will be the first meeting ever between the two schools in basketball.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES

The Golden Eagles enter the weekend at 0-5 this season under first-year head coach Bryan Beamish losing their last games by an average of just 4.5 points to Michigan Tech and Bemidji State.
