KINGSVILLE, Texas - Texas A&M – Kingsville volleyball won their 18
th straight set and preserved their perfect record this season inside the Steinke Physical Education Center Wednesday night defeating St. Edward's 25-19, 25-19, 25-17.

Tanya Allen-Gonzalez "We took what we saw in the scouting beforehand, and the girls did a really good job as the match went on executing what we wanted."
The Javelinas (14-8, LSC 6-3) won over the Hilltoppers (6-16, LSC 3-8) in large part due to
Jackie Alanis' 15-kill performance leading the team. Setters
Elisa Carli and
Sydney Whitmire did their posting 20 and 19 assists respectively. Middle blocker
Kailey Estrada was a force in the win recording a team-leading four blocks in the winning effort.
TAMUK started slowly falling behind 7-3 to start the first set, however, the Javelinas would battle back to take the lead later in the set off a kill by Alanis giving the Javs a 10-9 advantage, and they would not trail the rest of the set going on to win the set courtesy of a kill by Whitmire.
Set two would be another back-and-forth affair early, but the Javelinas would go on a 4-0 run to give themselves a comfortable 19-12 lead in the set. The Hilltoppers would not be able to cut that gap down closer than five as the Javs would win set two on a Hilltopper attacking error, 25-19.
The third and final set would be more of the same with the teams tied at 16 all in the set before the Javelinas would go on an 8-0 run that would include three consecutive kills from Alanis, as the team scored nine of the last ten points in the match to finish it at 25-17.
The Javelinas will now head on the road for a Lone Star Conference match against Angelo State on Friday and UT Permian Basin on Saturday.
