• The Javelinas are back in action with a home-and-home against Texas A&M International
• The non-conference matchup against the Dustdevils takes place in Laredo, Texas, beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 13
• The followup contest that counts towards the LSC standings begins at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, at the Steinke Physical Education Center
• The Javelinas improved to 9-4 overal, 3-0 in conference play, following a win over Western New Mexico last week
• TAMIU defeated Eastern New Mexico but lost to Lubbock Christian to start the league schedule before having its matchup against WNMU postponed
• Rai Brown leads the Dustdevils with a 17.4 scoring average, one of four on the team
• Brown is shooting at a 61.5% clip and also grabs five rebounds per game
• Emily Swiercz is second at an 11.8 scoring average
• Clara Fernandez and Eva Langton round out the quartet with 10.7 and 10.5 ppg, respectively
• As a team, TAMIU is averaging 75.5 points per game while allowing only 62 from its opponents
• Brown, Swiercz and Langton all received LSC Player of the Week honors in 2021-22

Last Time Out    
• The Javelinas improved to 3-0 in LSC play with a 60-47 win over Western New Mexico on the road last week
• Three Javelinas scored in double figures, led by Anastacia Mickens and Veyda Lake off the bench with 14 and 13 points, respectively
• Brianna Pena added 12 points in the starting lineup
• TAMUK led 23-17 at the half before the Mustangs took the lead early in the third and a 12-2 run put the game squarely in favor of the Blue and Gold

Down Goes Frazier    
• TAMUK toppled the top-ranked team in the nation to wrap up the 2021 calendar year with a 59-42 win over No. 1/1 Lubbock Christian on December 31
• It is the first win over the No. 1-ranked team in program history and first win over the defending NCAA Division II National Champions
• The Javelinas held the Lady Chaps to their lowest scoring output since 2010, the lowest shooting percentage of the year and worst margin of defeat since 2016

Defense Wins Accolades    
• Devon Williams was named LSC Defensive Player of the Week following TAMUK's upset win over Lubbock Christian to wrap up the 2021 calendar year
• She became the first Javelina to receive either accolade from the league office since Anastacia Mickens was named Defensive Player of the Week on December 14, 2020

Third Time's The Charm    
• The Javelinas started 3-0 in league play following the win over Western New Mexico
• The last time TAMUK started 3-0 in the Lone Star Conference was the 2006-07 season
• The Javelinas have only started 3-0 in league play six times in program history
• The best start to the conference schedule came in the 1999-00 season when the Blue and Gold started 7-0 en route to a 15-1 finish and the program's only LSC regular season and tournament championship

Texas Two-Step    
• Anastacia Mickens put up 24 points, a new career-high, in a 66-56 win at home against Western Oregon on November 24
• It is the most points by a Javelina in a game since Cloe Lane put up 25 in a 66-65 loss to Texas Woman's on February 7, 2019
• Only two Javelinas surpassed 20 points in a game in the 2020-21 season

Blanked    
• The Javelinas held Chadron State to zero points in the third quarter en route to a 58-51 win on November 12 to open the season
• It is the first time ever the Javelinas held their opponents to zero points in a quarter since the NCAA shifted to the quarter format ahead of the 2015-16 season
• Since head coach Michael Madrid took over, the Javelinas have held their opponents to fewer than 10 points in a quarter 39 times
