KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville athletic department has announced a partnership with local television affiliate KRIS 6 to broadcast the entirety of the home schedule for the 2021 Javelina football season.
"As a Javelina alumnus I am very excited to televise Hoggie football," said Alan Harwell, Sports Director for KRIS 6. "This will give fans who are unable to attend in person a chance to watch the games in the comfort of their own home.
"And an added benefit to our TV package, the games will be replayed during the week. So I invite fans to sit back, relax and enjoy great Javelina football."
The Javelinas open up the home portion of their 2021 schedule on September 11 against Western Oregon starting at 7 p.m. CT. A week away from Kingsville brings the Hogs back on September 25 for the home Lone Star Conference opener against A&M-Commerce for the annual Chennault Cup meeting between the programs.
A home date with Lincoln (Calif.) on October 16 awaits TAMUK, while West Texas A&M pays a visit to the Blue and Gold on October 30. The season finale is set for November 13 against Angelo State as the Javelinas wrap up their 10-game regular season schedule.
"We want to flood our KRIS TV Network with great local sports programming," added Ramón Pineda, KRIS Communications General Manager, "and adding live Javelina home football games to our broadcast schedule is a huge win for us and all of Javelina Nation.
"We are thrilled about our new partnership with TAMUK and can't wait to showcase their talents on live TV this season."
In addition to the live television broadcast, all home Javelina events will continue to stream on the Javelina Sports Network presented by Mendoza's Pharmacy as part of the continued partnership with the LSC Digital Network and BlueFrame Technology. Members of Javelina Nation will have the opportunity to purchase season and day passes to watch their favorite Javelinas on the go.
