FORT WORTH, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville beach volleyball team started a weekend in which they'll play three times with a matchup against the No. 10 TCU Horned Frogs and it ended with the Javelinas being handed a 5-0 defeat on Friday morning in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Horned Frogs got off to a 2-0 start by taking the No. 5 flight, 21-9, 21-8, and the fourth match, 21-10, 21-16. In the No. 6 match, junior Kapri Pelle (Auburn, Calif.) and freshman Macie Satterwhite (Callisburg, Texas) found success in winning the first frame, 21-17, but TCU came back to take the next two sets. The clinching point for the home team came in the form of a 21-13, 21-13 victory in the second flight.
The Javelinas will have two chances to bounce back on Saturday, starting at 9 a.m. against Lousiana-Monroe, followed by an 11:15 match with Stephen F. Austin.
