TAMUK looks to build on momentum from previous week

THE MATCHUPS
• The Javelinas are winners of four out of their last five outings as they return to the SPEC to take on MSU Texas and Cameron in Lone Star Conference play
• TAMUK went 2-0 last week following wins of Western New Mexico and UT Permian Basin to get back to .500 in conference
• Brynae Thompson put away 25 points in the win over WNMU while Cloe Lane tallied 21 in the win over UTPB
• Thompson is now second in the LSC in scoring at 15.9 ppg on 46.4% shooting
• Lane raised her average to 10.9 ppg
• Danielle Meador posted a double-double in the win over the Mustangs with 11 points and 11 rebounds
• Bri-Anna Soliz set a new season-best with 17 rebounds in the win over the Falcons
• MSU Texas is sitting at 6-9 on the year, 3-5 in the LSC, following a loss to Cameron and a win over Texas Woman's
• Hannah Reynolds leads the Mustangs with 11.8 points per outing on a 47.5% clip
• Reynolds adds 6.2 rebounds per game through 15 appearances and 13 starts
• Chelcie Kizart, Kityana Diaz and Liz Cathcart all average over nine points per game for MSU Texas
• Cameron is 6-10 on the year following an overtime loss to Texas Woman's
• The Aggies will feature the 1-2 punch of Maighan Hedge and Natalie Halbleib as the two average 14.3 and 14.1 ppg, respectively

• TAMUK went 2-0 on the week with a 64-62 win over Western New Mexico followed by a 78-71 decision over UT Permian Basin

LSC Player of the Week
• Brynae Thompson took home LSC Offensive Player of the Week honors on Jan. 7 after her 28-point performance against the Pioneers
• It was the first LSC honor for a Javelina since Nov. 29, 2016, when Kaylin Roher took home the Defensive Player of the Week award from the conference
• The last Javelina to take home LSC Offensive Player of the Week was Rosalie Cutri on Dec. 17, 2013

• TAMUK reached the 90-point plateau in the win over the Dustdevils for the first time since February 3, 2018, a 92-91 triple-overtime loss to Cameron
• The Javelinas last tallied a win with 90 points on Nov. 30, 2013, a 92-86 double-overtime decision against TAMIU
 
Pickpocket
• Lane nabbed a season-high seven steals in the win over TAMIU on Dec. 17
• Seven steals is the most in a single game for the Javelinas in over a decade with the single-game high of 10 originally set on March 21, 2001, by Ashley White against North Dakota
 
Double Vision
• Bri-Anna Soliz posted the first double-double of the year for the Javelinas in the 86-84 upset over then-No. 2 West Texas A&M on January 10, with 13 points and 15 rebounds
• Danielle Meador secured the second double-double of the year with 11 points and 11 rebounds in the win over Western New Mexico on January 17

• West Texas A&M took another step back down to No. 14 in the poll following a loss to Tarleton
• Angelo State stayed at No. 19 with a 2-0 week over WNMU and UTPB
