RICHARDSON, Texas – The Lone Star Conference announced the Commissioner's Honor Roll for the 2018-19 fall semester on Thursday, with 117 members of the Texas A&M-Kingsville athletic programs making the list of 1,237 student-athletes.

The Javelinas had a total of 38 student-athletes compile a perfect 4.0 GPA during the semester, third most amongst all LSC schools.

From the TAMUK athletic department, head coach Daren Wilkinson's football program lead the way with 28 student-athletes making the cut. Right behind the gridiron group was 23 from the three squads headed up by head coach Ryan Dall, while head coach Jason Gonzales' baseball program rounds out the trio with 17.

Of the 38 student-athletes with a perfect 4.0 GPA, eight hail from Dall's track and field/cross country programs, while seven each appear from Gonzales' baseball and head coach Tanya Allen's volleyball/beach volleyball programs.

Angelo State led all LSC schools in both categories with 147 student-athletes making the list, 48 of whom had a perfect 4.0 GPA. Eastern New Mexico and West Texas A&M tied for second with 144 honorees, while UT Permian Basin was fourth with 138 and A&M-Commerce was fifth with 132.

TAMUC was the other school to have more perfect marks in the conference than TAMUK with 42.

Among the constituent sports sponsored by the LSC, football claimed the top spot on the list of 4.0 marks with 41, followed by softball with 37, volleyball with 36, women's soccer with 35 and baseball with 34.

The Commissioner's Honor Roll is announced at the conclusion of the fall and spring semesters with student-athletes qualifying based on grade point average for the current semester. To be eligible for the honor roll, student-athletes must have a minimum 3.30 GPA for the current semester and be on their respective sport roster.
