CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (Beach Volleyball) – Coming off Wednesday's thriller that featured wins by
Kat Evans and
Maelee Sowa in No. 4 and
Haley Hutchinson and
Kadi Shipman in No. 5, Texas A&M University-Kingsville (9-16) heads to nearby Corpus Christi for a 10 a.m. bout versus No. 14 TCU (16-8) and a 3 p.m. trilogy against Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (1-14).
On Wednesday, Evans/Sowa defeated Claire Karsten and Kelsee Felux, 21-18, 21-18, and Hutchinson/
Kadi Shipman took No. 5 over Madison Woods and Kristyn Nicholson, 13-21, 21-19, 15-11, to complete the comeback, giving TAMUK a 2-0 lead.
Taliah Phipps and
Paige Lanam won the exhibition 21-9, 14-21, 15-12.
After falling in No. 1 and No. 2,
Morgan Broussard and
Madison Brabham gave the crowd at the Javelina Beach Courts an outstanding back and forth. The duo knotted the third 1-1 after taking the second set 21-19.
ABOUT THE HOGS
Saturday will be the conclusion of the inaugural beach volleyball season for Texas A&M-Kingsville and the final matches for Evans and Broussard. Hutchinson and
Kadi Shipman have won their last two matches at No. 5.
