BATON ROUGE, La. (Beach Volleyball) –
Haley Hutchinson and
Kadi Shipman took No. 5 versus the University of Louisiana-Monroe (16-10) in the final match of the 2017 Battle on the Bayou at Mango's Beach Volleyball Club Saturday. Texas A&M University-Kingsville (9-15) threatened in No. 1 and No. 3 against the Warhawks but fell 4-1 to ULM after battling No. t-10 Georgia State University (19-11).

Kadi Shipman took the opening set 21-18 and clinched the victory with a 15-11 win in set No. 3 versus Grace Convey and Bailey Smith. In No. 1,
Lexi Wick and
Kelby Spinkles overcame a slow start at 21-7 loss to take set No. 2 22-20. On the flip side,
Morgan Broussard and
Madison Brabham went up 1-0 at No. 3 with a 21-6 win but ended up on the wrong end of a 21-17, 15-11 final in 2-3.
