PUEBLO, Colo. – Colorado State University-Pueblo (1-2) had no answer for Texas A&M University-Kingsville (4-0) on Friday night as they were outshot on their home floor by the Javelinas who begin the season 4-0 after an 82-64 victory to open the 34th Annual Al Kaly Shrine Classic Tournament in Massari Arena. Â

First HalfÂ
It was an omen when the Javelinas first nine unanswered points came by way of the three-ball. The shots were falling early and continuously as TAMUK shot 7-of-12 from behind the arc at the 9:31 mark to hold a 25-11 advantage. The Hogs led by as many as 22 points in the frame after another three-pointer courtesy of Jonnathan Lindsey. The ThunderWolves put together a frivolous 5-0 run towards the end of the half but was negated after a trey by Sumpter to end the half with a 46-30 lead.
Â
After one half, Sumpter led all scorers with 12 points and shot 4-of-5 from downtown.
 Â
Second HalfÂ
Trey came out of the gates still hot and knocked down another three-pointer to begin the second half. He was a perfect 3-of-3 in this stanza. Towards the middle of the half, CSU-Pueblo had another 5-0 spurt, but a layup by Jacolby Harris and a three from Elton Dyer stretched the lead back to 20 at 10:56. Late in the half, back-to-back threes from Byrd and Sumpter sealed the game as the Javs cruised to an 82-64 victory.
