HOW IT HAPPENED

Set 1

Texas A&M-Kingsville came out of the gates swinging and took a 10-5 lead to open the match. Later with the Hogs ahead 12-7, the TexANNS went on a 4-0 run to cut into the deficit. Both clubs exchanged points up to 19 before two errors by Kingsville gave Tarleton a two-point lead. TSU went on to take the opening frame 25-22. Bukowski led the Hogs with five kills.

Set 2

The Javelinas drew first blood in set No. 2 but with a slim lead, the TexANNS shifted the momentum after an 8-3 run gave them a commanding 16-10 lead. The Javs made a late push and shrunk the lead to four, however a kill by Hailey Roberts after the timeout ended the set in favor of the home team, 25-20. Faison registered three kills in the set and Brabham added two. Roberts led all players with eight kills in set two.

Set 3

Down 11-10, the Hogs score five unanswered, highlighted by three consecutive TexANNS errors to take an 18-13 lead. Later, Bukowski's kill gives Kingsville its largest lead of the match, 22-16, and the Blue and Gold avoided the sweep with a 25-20 victory. The Javs capitalized on the home team's 11 attacking errors, and Faison paced the team with three kills. Hutchinson, Brabham and Wick each recorded two kills.

Set 4

Although TSU jumped out to an 11-6 lead, Hutchinson became a problem for them as she finished the set with a team high of five kills. Tarleton State pulled out the win however with a score of 25-18 behind Roberts six kills to close out the match.
