DENTON, Texas (Volleyball) – Texas A&M University-Kingsville's (12-3, 3-1 LSC) went undefeated on Saturday after picking up its first conference road win in a four-set win at Texas Woman's University (3-9, 0-4 LSC) in Kitty Magee Arena and a straight set win at Dallas Baptist University (3-10, 1-1 Heartland Conference) inside the Burg Center.Â
The Javelinas won six consecutive sets on Saturday after dropping the first of the day against TWU. The team was impressive defensively averaging 3.3 blocks per set including five solo blocks. Ashley Bukowski led the way with 22 kills followed by Lexi Wick who had 19 kills, three aces and nine total blocks. Sophomores Haley Hutchinson and Madison Brabham dominated the game defensively with 14 blocks apiece. Krystal Faison made her presence known with 14 kills and team high 42 digs. She also finished with two service aces.
In the first match of the day, Bukowski recorded her eighth double-double of 2016 with 14 kills and 14 digs as Texas A&M-Kingsville got back in the win column with a four-set victory over Texas Woman's. Faison finished with nine kills and recorded a season-high 30 digs, Wick gathered eight kills, three blocks and an ace and Brabham and Hutchinson collected six kills apiece and added seven and five blocks, respectively. Casey Klobedans led the club with 40 assists and two aces to add to her two kills.Â
Texas A&M-Kingsville finished off the weekend sweeping Dallas Baptist. Offensively they hit .209 and defensively, collected 13 team blocks. Wick was the ring leader with 11 kills and two aces and also added ten digs and three blocks. Hutchinson and Brabham each had seven blocks and five kills in the win. Faison also finished with five kills and tied Krystal Puente with 12 digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
The Hogs started on the wrong end of a 25-14 opening set. The Pioneers hit .500 on 21 kills in the victory.Â
Set 2
Behind Klobedan's ace and kill, the Javelinas came out strong in the second set with a 5-1 lead. The cushion evolved to 18-13 after two kills from Bukowski and Brabham that was sandwiched by Klobedans second service ace of the match. With the score 19-14, Kingsville closed the set on a 6-1 run and won set No. 2 25-15, tying the match at 1-1.Â
Set 3
Texas A&M-Kingsville was more dominant in the third set, taking it 25-15 to gain a 2-1 lead. The team hit .256 and recorded a side-out percentage of 75. Faison and Bukowski led the way with three kills apiece, while Brabham and Wick each collected two. Â
Set 4
A back and forth affair was in full effect in set No. 4, but Bukowski was too much to handle, picking up seven kills in the clinching set. Wick followed with four kills and one block and Faison and Wick each had two kills. The Javelinas took the set 25-22 to improve to 3-1 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
Down 18-15, the Javelinas regrouped and went on a 5-2 run to tie the opening set at 20. Bukowski's kill, followed by three attack errors by DBU led to Kingsville's 25-21 victory in set No. 1.Â
Set 2
A&M-Kingsville was consistent all weekend when it came to set No. 2, taking a 2-0 lead with a 25-16 victory behind Faison, Wick and Brabham's four kills. The Hogs never trailed in the set.
Set 3
TAMUK held on to the momentum and ended the third set with a 4-0 run to win set No. 3 25-19 and the match 3-0. The team finished the set with seven blocks and 12 kills.
What's Next
The Blue and Gold will complete the six-match road trip next weekend when they take on Tarleton State on Friday, September 30 followed by a match against No. 8 Angelo State on Saturday, October 1.Â
