The battle of undefeated clubs begins the Lone Star Conference slate for the Javelinas, who received 36 votes in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Poll. Midwestern State was idle last week and defeated Truman State University in its season opener.

Myles Carr began the 2016 campaign the same way he ended 2015, throwing three touchdowns in the 31-22 victory at University of Incarnate Word (Sept. 3) and four touchdowns on just eight attempts in last week's 68-7 win versus Simon Fraser University (Sept. 10). Currently, he leads the nation in pass efficiency and is top five in passing touchdowns and yards per completion.
