DENTON, Texas (Softball) – Texas A&M University Kingsville (17-24, 6-14 LSC) resumes Lone Star Conference action April 8 with a four-game series against Texas Woman's University (25-15, 13-7 LSC) at Pioneer Field. Friday's doubleheader begins at 5 p.m. and Saturday's double dip is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.

The Javelinas are coming off a doubleheader victory at Huston-Tilloston University, 12-1 and 6-3. In the wins,
Roxy Chapa went yard three times and the freshman backstop heads to TWU with nine home runs and 40 RBI.
Rachael Longoria finished Tuesday's victories 4-for-8 with three RBI and a home run. She enters the Texas Woman's series leading the team in hitting with a .320 batting average. Â
Victoria Schoonard-Saborio and
Haley Boyett are also over the .300 plateau.

Carlie Clark (8-8) and
Karri Smith (5-7) both picked up wins Tuesday. Clark has 66 strikeouts in 76 innings and a 4.97 ERA and Smith has 34 punchouts and a 4.06 ERA.

About the PioneersThe Pioneers split their doubleheader versus Oklahoma Christian University, falling 10-0 in game one before salvaging a 4-1 win in game two.

Tori Bice is the leader inside of the circle with a 14-9 record in 2016. Bice has 85 strikeouts in 124.0 innings. Hailey Dixon (8-5) has 38 punchouts this season with a 4.47 ERA, and Katie Hickey (2-1) has a 4.51 earned run average in 40.1 innings.

Tealey Farquhar is in the top ten of the Lone Star Conference in hitting with a .416 batting average. Laura Mabary (.352), Logan Polasek (.346), Nicole Nordie (.315), and Lindy Kennedy (.312) are all hitting .300 or better and Nordie leads the team with three home runs and 33 RBI.
