KINGSVILLE, Texas (Softball) – Texas A&M University-Kingsville (18-27) concludes their nonconference schedule with a doubleheader April 12 at 4 and 6 p.m. against No. 10 St. Mary's University (35-9) at Vernie and Blanche Hubert Field sponsored by Legends at Kingsville.

The two clubs met earlier this season at Rattlers Stadium where the Javelinas fell in both games 7-3 and 12-8. Â

About the Javelinas TAMUK tallied four home runs in the four-game series last weekend against Texas Woman's University, highlighted by
Rachael Longoria's grand slam in game one of Saturday's doubleheader.
Victoria Schoonard-Saborio belted her fifth and sixth homers of the season and
Haley Boyett blasted her first tater in 2016 in game two of Saturday's doubleheader.

Longoria leads Kingsville with a batting average of .340 and has 14 multiple hit games this season. When runners are on base, the sophomore's average increases to .402 and has a team high of 33 hits and 2 home runs. Schoonard-Saborio averages .328 at the plate driving in 31 runs this season, while Boyett bats .314 with 43 hits on 137 at bats and has a 13 game reached base streak.

Roxy Chapa bats .292 overall this season but has an average of .409 against lefty pitchers and .345 with runners in scoring position. In fact, six out of her team leading nine home runs have came with runners in scoring position.

Karri Smith is 5-9 in the circle this season and tied the all-time games finished mark in program history after tossing two complete games in the four-game series versus Texas Woman's University. The senior has a 4.35 ERA and has 36 K's in 95 innings pitched.
Carlie Clark is 8-9 on the rubber in 2016 and has 68 strikeouts in 81.2 innings.

About the RattlersSt. Mary's swept Newman University 3-0 this past weekend but are 1-2 on the road this season against nonconference opponents.

STMU has two players batting over .400 in Sydney Wellmann and Hannah Michel. Wellmann leads the Rattlers with a .402 batting average, 14 home runs, 55 RBI, and a slugging percentage of 78 percent. Michel is right behind her with a .401 batting average with a team high of 157 plate appearances and has five dingers this season.

Raynelle Nash (.347) leads the .300 batting average club and is tied with a team high of 51 hits (tied with Wellmann) and has 36 RBI. Alena Moreno (.333), Hannah Fields (.327), and Marcela Vasquez (.325) all bat over the .300 clip.

Ashley Mills is 10-0 in the circle this season. The left handed pitcher has a low of 2.68 ERA with 65 punchouts and has registered two saves. Hope Russell (6-4) has an ERA of 2.81 and Jordan Russell is 15-3 in her 18 starts tossing 106.2 innings with 61 strikeouts.
